Sleep apnea syndrome

WHAT IS SLEEP APNEA SYNDROME?

What is sleep apnea syndrome?

Sleep apnea syndrome is divided into three types: obstructive, central and mixed, with obstructive being the most common.

The syndrome occurs repeatedly during sleep, in which the upper airway is periodically blocked, resulting in interrupted breathing and decreased blood oxygen levels.

Sometimes, this results in multiple awakenings during sleep, which greatly damages the quality of sleep. The medical definition is that during sleep, adults have more than five respiratory pauses or hypopneas per hour, each lasting ten years. More than seconds, accompanied by a drop in blood oxygen concentration, can be classified as sleep apnea syndrome.

Simply put, this syndrome means that breathing will repeatedly stop or become very shallow while sleeping, which is not good for the body and will lead to a decrease in sleep quality, and the obstructive type is the most common type.
